OUR HISTORY
FROM THE GROUND UP

The Brownstone Group began in 1971, when William “Bill” L. Brown founded his first real estate company. Over the next three decades, Bill led the planning, development, and construction of more than 6,000 housing units, laying the foundation for what would become a family legacy in real estate.

In 2005, Brownstone entered a new era of growth as Bill’s three sons, Jed, Doak, and Wil, joined forces with their father to establish one of the leading multifamily development and construction firms in Texas and the Southeast. Since then, the Brown family has designed, developed, and constructed over 20,000 units, with projects valued at more than $2.56 billion.

With decades of experience, The Brownstone Group has successfully delivered a wide variety of residential developments including garden-style apartments, infill podium communities, senior housing, and income-restricted projects. Its vertically integrated structure ensures consistent quality and performance across every phase, from development and construction to property management.

A LEGACY OF
NATIONAL SCALE

To support continued expansion, Brownstone has strategically grown its regional presence over time. In 2020, the company added a San Antonio office to strengthen its reach in Central and South Texas. Most recently, in 2022, Brownstone established its Florida office to pursue Single Family Residential (SFR), workforce housing, and multifamily opportunities along the East Coast.
